Who I am
My name is Frederico Leonardo, and GOMO Digital is my private practice. I've been building for the web for 25 years, independently since 2012. Most of my work comes from people in one of three places: they need a new website, they have designs that need building, or their current site isn't working. I also work with design and branding agencies, white-label or alongside them.
What I'm good at is looking at a problem and finding what's really behind it. Then I choose the right tools, design it and build it properly. The design I care about most is the system: the content model, the typography, the components, the logic of a site with thousands of items and several languages. You work directly with me, so the person you talk to is the person who does the work. When a project needs another specialist, I bring in people I trust.

How I learned
Hand-coded HTML, CSS from forums, JavaScript from StackOverflow. That still shapes how I work: fewer unnecessary abstractions, platform choices made on purpose, and a clear sense of what will hold up after launch.

Who I work with
Most new work comes from the UK and the rest of Europe. Tourism boards, foundations, research centres, academies and cultural institutions, and companies whose website has outgrown its tool. I also work with the studios behind them, and I've worked with Portuguese institutions for years.

Maybe you don't know where to start. Maybe you have a brief and no designer. Maybe you have thousands of pages in four languages and a team that has to run them. Either way, I'll help you get there, and I design as well as build.

The design is approved. Now it needs someone who will build it the way it was designed, on a CMS your team can actually use.

It's slow, hard to edit, not bringing in leads, or the platform no longer fits. You need someone to find out why and fix it.
